Vintner weekends across the country are presented as opportunities to tour wineries, sample new releases, and meet with other oenophiles. Yet what’s often lacking is intimacy and access to the vintners. It’s hard to consider a wine festival featuring dozens of wineries as an intimate and exclusive event.

Triple Creek Ranch in Darby, Montana, however, has taken the vintner weekend concept and made it into a truly rare opportunity for passionate oenophiles to taste, talk, and dine right alongside some of the country’s preeminent vintners. Not only are guests invited to small, informal seminars and tastings, but they enjoy ranch activities, such as fly-fishing, horseback riding, or hiking, with the vintners. In other words, vintner weekends are exactly what their name implies.

Jeremy White, sommelier at Triple Creek Ranch

Sommelier Jeremy White, who curates the wine cellar at the ranch—which was recently awarded an impressive 12th Wine Spectator Award and its fifth “Best of” Award—participates in the Triple Creek Ranch Vinter Weekends. The Spring series that he has put together runs throughout May and features three outstanding California and Oregon wineries. So, whether you’re a budding wine connoisseur or a seasoned professional, the Triple Creek Ranch Vintner weekends promise to please the palate of foodies and oenophiles alike.
