Cowboy School is back in session at Montana’s Triple Creek Ranch, one of the most popular events at the award-winning Relais & Châteaux guest ranch in the Bitterroot Mountains. Designed to bring out the inner Cowboy or Cowgirl, the five-day Cowboy School is complimentary for guests and it’s packed with Western experiences, thrills, and tricks, from horsemanship to games on horseback, passing on the secrets of the bond between riders and horses.

Cowboy School will be held twice this year, from March 21- April 1, 2024, and again from November 13-18, 2024. Visit Triple Creek Ranch for more details on Cowboy School.

Cowboy School

Aimed at both novice riders and experienced equestrians, it includes lessons in equine anatomy, markings, & coloring and how to catch, groom, and saddle a horse. A Roping Lesson teaches guests how to lasso like a real cowboy, followed by a wrangler-led ride to explore the rugged beauty surrounding Triple Creek Ranch, which sits on 700 acres, offers an additional 26,000 acres of the CB Ranch, and is adjacent to four million pristine acres of the Bitterroot National Forest.

Guests can look forward to a session of Colt Work, an Obstacle Course Ride, and Round Pen Work. Saturday is Game Day, with Team Penning and other equestrian games on horseback. At the same time, Sunday is dedicated to a CB Ranch Full Day Ride, where riders can use what they’ve learned in rugged terrain amidst the spectacular Montana wilderness.

What elevates Cowboy School to a truly sublime experience is Triple Creek Ranch, an adults-only guest ranch offering seclusion and discreet five-star service. Just 25 luxurious log cabins are tucked among towering lodge pole pines bordering the Bitterroot River. Accommodation, five-star dining, wines, and most Ranch activities are included in the nightly rate.
