Celebrating an American Revolution, The Boston Marathon & the Emerald Necklace

Spring is Boston’s most eagerly anticipated season, when the mandate is to get outside after a long New England winter. Here in America’s greatest walking city, stroll along the flowering Emerald Necklace, which includes the Back Bay Fens, the Public Garden, and the Boston Common, and then head down Commonwealth Avenue to see the magnolias in bloom along one of the world’s most architecturally stunning boulevards. Watch regattas on the Charles River from the green ribbon of the Esplanade and explore neighborhoods like Beacon Hill and the North End.

Opening Day for the Boston Red Sox at the legendary Fenway Park is April 9, while the 128th Boston Marathon on April 15 is spring’s signature event when 30,000 entrants will race 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boylston Street in Boston. Race spectators have it easy, the finish line is a short walk from The Revolution Hotel.

Cultural happenings include attending The Boston Ballet’s Spring Experience, a triple bill of classic and contemporary works performed at the magnificent Citizens Bank Opera House from May 9 – 19, 2024, and visiting the Museum of Fine Arts to see Hallyu! The Korean Wave, an exhibition that explores the rise of South Korea as a cultural superpower.
