Located adjacent to The Glen House, the new hotel at the base of Mt. Washington, Great Glen Trails offers recreation aimed at the entire family. They have a fleet of adult and children’s bikes from Kona, fatbikes from Reid, and comfort bikes from Schwinn, which are ideal for their carriage roads. All bike rentals include a bike pass and a helmet.

 

There are 28 miles of trails, ideal for mountain biking, from gentle carriage roads to challenging single track. The trails are also great for trail runners.

There’s also a full or half-day guided kayak wildlife tours on the meandering Androscoggin River. The Mahoosuc Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop and the opportunity for wildlife sightings including deer, moose, river otters, blue herons, ducks, bald eagles and owls. Their A.C.A certified guides know the history, topography, flora, fauna and the ins and outs of all the waterways. These river trips are designed for first time paddlers and experts alike and offer a leisurely relaxed day on the river. Great Glen Trails also offers whitewater trips, catering to both beginners and experts.

Take a break at the Glen View Café , which is open for breakfast from 8:30am – 10:30am with made to order breakfast sandwiches, eggs, toast, oatmeal, cereal, coffee and snacks.A lunchtime, the menu shifts to made-to-order sandwiches, homeade soups, pizza, specials of the day, hamburgers, veggieburgers, hotdogs, french fries and baked goods.
