Sometimes, it’s the glittering lights of the city calling. Other times, it’s the hotel itself that draws guests in and entices them to stay put and enjoy the change of scenery from the inside out. That’s the message behind the new SOPHY SO-Suite experience, an invitation to enjoy a relaxed getaway in one of the spacious, light-filled suites that are hallmarks of  Chicago’s standout boutique hotel, SOPHY Hyde Park.  Whether it’s a celebration, a special getaway, or just a need to escape for a couple of nights, the SOPHY SO-Suite experience is designed to cocoon guests in a sumptuous space.

While each of SOPHY’s 98 rooms are designed as sophisticated sanctuaries, offering lots of space, huge windows with far-reaching views, well-appointed bathrooms, and a club-like feel, the  suites that take them to another level. They’re each anchored by an 8-foot abstract painting by local artist Joey Korom, appointed with books about Chicago history and culture, and have a vintage record player and a curated selection of local musicians on vinyl. All of them have hardwood floors, area rugs, custom lighting and comfortable seating and dining areas. At SOPHY, there are three different suite types to choose from:

The Novel Suites

Each of the 671 square foot Novel Suites features a living/dining space that offers a table to seat four, a sectional couch with full-size sleeper sofa, coffee table, lounge chair, and 55-inch flat screen TV. There is a private king bedroom with a full-sized wardrobe, a workstation, blackout drapes, and lounge chair. A generously-sized marble tiled bathroom offers a large walk-in shower, double vanity, and luxury bath products. An accessible Novel Suite is also available.

The Dorchester Suites

The Dorchester Suites offer 761 square feet of living space. There is an open entry space with marble-counter sink and living/dining space furnished with a dining table that can accommodate six guests. There’s a sectional couch with twin size sleeper sofa, coffee table, lounge chair and 55-inch flat screen TV. The private king bedroom has a 55-inch flat screen TV, blackout drapes, and lounge chair. The bedroom offers a 90 square foot private dressing room equipped with two full-sized wardrobes and makeup vanity. The 146 square foot marble tiled bathroom includes a deep soaking tub, large walk-in shower, double vanity, and luxury bath products. An accessible Dorchester Suite is also available.

The Opus Suites

The Opus Suites are the hotel’s largest, most sumptuous accommodations, featuring 1,180 square feet of living space, including a wraparound sofa, a 55-inch flat screen TV, coffee table, and ottoman. The dining area has seating for eight. The large kitchen space is fully equipped with a four-burner stove top, microwave, refrigerated drawers, flatware, dishware, glassware, as well as a large island with seating for four. The private king bedroom is furnished with blackout drapes, a 55-inch flat screen TV, chaise lounge, and a walk-in closet. A marble tiled bathroom offers a deep soaking tub, large walk-in shower, double vanity, and luxury bath products.
