As Florida slowly reopens, The Alfond Inn at Rollins is welcoming Florida residents back to Winter Park, one of the state’s most beautiful small cities.

The Alfond Inn at Rollins, a AAA Four Diamond hotel, was just bestowed AAA’s Best of Housekeeping Award, which recognizes AAA Inspected & Approved hotels that receive the highest possible cleanliness and condition scores. It’s an achievement that matters today more than ever today as visitors start traveling again.

Winter Park, Florida
Winter Park offers a variety of outdoor activities.

WALKABLE WINTER PARK: PEOPLE & PUP-FRIENDLY

Winter Park is a model city when it comes to outdoor living and social distancing. Built in the 19th century, the cobblestone streets, charming downtown with covered walkways and hidden pathways winding past shops and outdoor cafes, make it one of the most walkable towns in Florida. The city has a 23-acre green space on Lake Baldwin where dogs can run off leash during specific posted hours, a chain of tranquil lakes, the Winter Park Golf Course (now open) in the center of town, and an abundance of open spaces and parks cooled by the large oak trees hung with Spanish Moss.

SELF-GUIDED ART TOURS: THE REAL DEAL, NOT VIRTUAL

The Alfond Inn at Rollins was designed to exhibit rotating installations of works from The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, which are part of the collection of the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College. The only hotel in the United States that serves as an actual extension of an art museum, the public areas showcase rotating installations of contemporary art from an extraordinary trove of paintings, photographs, sculptures and mixed-media works from collection. There’s a self-guided tour of the current art installation using QR codes.
