To showcase the beauty of the American West in this year of the Centennial of the National Parks, Relais & Châteaux has chosen Montana’s Triple Creek Ranch along with four other mountain properties to create the new Rocky Mountain Route de Bonheur.

This is the newest of the Routes de Bonheur or “Road of Happiness” itineraries from Relais & Châteaux, one of more than 100 such itineraries around the world for discerning travelers.  Triple Creek Ranch’s owner Craig Barrett, former Chairman, President and CEO of Intel, describes the beauty of this majestic Rocky Mountain route and his love for the West on the Relais & Châteaux website.

The Rocky Mountain Route was thoughtfully designed as a sophisticated drive and stay itinerary, an idyllic and adventurous luxury road trip through some of the most scenic parts of the American West, with stays at five outstanding Relais & Châteaux properties.

The 1,500 mile long journey winds its ways from Montana through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. At Triple Creek Ranch, there are just 25 unique and secluded log cabins with fireplaces, four-poster log king beds and outdoor hot tubs. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Jacob Leatherman, a veteran of the James Beard House in New York, while sommelier Jeremy White oversees a wine cellar that has won 11 Wine Spectator awards.

Guests on the Rocky Mountain Route also stay at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana and then head to Colorado to The Home Ranch near Steamboat Springs, The Little Nell in Aspen and Dunton Hot Springs, close to Durango. Each of these five Relais & Châteaux gems is different and reveals a fresh side of the Western experience. The suggested Rocky Mountain Route calls for two nights at each property, but guests can easily personalize and customize an itinerary for longer or shorter stays.
