A short walk from the new SOPHY Hyde Park hotel is one of architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpieces, the Frederick C. Robie House.  A National Historic Landmark on the campus of the University of Chicago in the Hyde Park neighborhood, the house was constructed between 1909 and 1910 and designed by Wright.

 

The Robie House is generally considered the finest example of the Prairie School style, a uniquely American style.Visitors have an opportunity to observe the ongoing interior restoration in progress and learn about how a historic building is brought back to its original glory to inspire future generations.
