Stave Puzzles are legendary. They are handcrafted wooden jigsaw puzzles that take the jigsaw puzzle format and raise it to an art form. Who better to partner with than Triple Creek Ranch, the Relais & Chateaux guest ranch with two Michelin Keys that has raised hospitality to an art form as well.

Triple Creek Ranch’s Stave Puzzle Weekends started in 2016, as a way for Stave devotees as well as newbies to compete in light-hearted competitions and play puzzle games.

The intimate, tranquil nature of the Ranch is the ideal setting to focus on these fun and typically diabolical puzzle challenges. This marks the 10th year of the Annual Stave Puzzle Weekend, from March 5th to 9th, 2026. It is a perfect excuse to slip away for a long weekend, getting cozy in a Montana winter with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, honing your puzzling skills and competing against fellow guests in a friendly challenge.

Guests arrive on Thursday and depart on Monday. With a welcome reception with the Stave Puzzles Team. There are three days of uninterrupted puzzling, competition and games. All puzzling activities are included in the all-inclusive nightly cabin rate. To give yourself a break from puzzling, go for for a horseback ride or hike through endless miles of Montana forest.

Each day concludes with a hearty dinner in the main Lodge with Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman, whose creative and inventive cuisine pairs his classical French training with the robust flavors of the American West. The wine cellar at the Ranch has earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence each year since 2012.
