After a long, hot summer, Chicago will soon transition into its most delightful fall season. This is when the city enjoys cooler temperatures, the striking autumn light on Lake Michigan, and the changing foliage in the city’s many parks.

Choose Chicago has compiled a roster of amazing activities happening in the city this autumn, including a fall boat cruise on the Chicago River, dining alfresco at the Chicago Gourmet food festival in late September, joining the citywide Open House Chicago architectural tour in October, and attending a live performance at one of Chicago’s many theaters and performing spaces.

SOPHY® Hyde Park, the 98-room boutique hotel on the historic South Side, offers the perfect neighborhood getaway for those who want to savor the very best of a Chicago fall. The Fall SO-Cozy package was created with a true couples getaway in mind. It’s a two-night stay that comes with a welcome pair of Mesler Hot Toddies to take off any lingering chill. This is also the perfect season to explore the neighborhood and be SOPHY’s guest at the Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science center in the Western Hemisphere.

The hotel is including admission for two for this Hyde Park landmark within walking distance of the hotel. Then add one $50 credit per stay at the popular Mesler Chicago, where Chef Eddie Arreola has created a menu of comfort food favorites.

Mesler is a chic restaurant, bar, and lounge that has become the heart of the Hyde Park community, a lively gathering place for guests and neighborhood residents. In autumn, guests don a sweater and step outside into The Sanctuary, an alfresco lounge with a fire pit and twinkling lights. It’s the best place in town to sample a signature seasonal cocktail like an Apple Sidecar, made with Gautier VS Cognac, cognac foam, and cinnamon. Happy Hour continues through the fall Tuesday-Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm when $10 classic cocktails, $8 glasses of house wine, and $5 draft and bottled beers are on offer with small plates curated by Chef Eddie.
