Where will you spend the Thanksgiving holiday?  How about the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana at Triple Creek Ranch , which is holding its second annual Vintner Thanksgiving Weekend.

Pairing a multi-course Thanksgiving feast from Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman with releases from a celebrated boutique winery, the Thanksgiving festivities are a highlight of the Vintner Event Weekends that take place throughout the year at Triple Creek Ranch.  Yet they go far beyond a celebratory holiday meal, as the guest winemaker is in residence for the duration, easily accessible and enjoying ranch activities alongside guests.

This year they’re featuring California’s L’Aventure Winery from November 23 to 27, 2016.which produces some of the most sought after wines in Paso Robles. L’Aventure Winery was founded in 1996 when artisan winemaker Stephan Asseo left Bordeaux to pursue his quest for great terroir in the United States. He chose the Willow Creek District on the west side of Paso Robles and his wines combines Bordeaux and Rhône varietals, resulting in distinctive and award-winning Paso blends. Stephen’s daughter, Chloe Asseo, will be pouring and discussing a number of L’Aventure wines throughout the holiday weekend. They’ll include the Optimus 2010 and 2012, as well as the 2010, 2011 and 2012 vintages of Estate Cuvee  and Cote a Cote.

The weekend festivities will include a cooking class on making homemade pies with the culinary team, as well as recipes for Thanksgiving leftovers. There will be horseback rides in the Bitterroot National Forest and a L’Aventure Seminar. In past years, Thanksgiving dinner has started with cocktails in Elk Meadow, the home of Triple Creek Ranch owners Barbara and Craig Barrett, with an informal tour of the Barrett’s private collection of Western art.  Rates for Thanksgiving Weekend 2016 start at $950 per cabin, based on double occupancy and include all meals, wines, holiday activities and more.

Some of these wines will be paired with a multi-course Thanksgiving feast from Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman, who promises to bring the flavors of the Rocky Mountains to a traditional holiday feast. Thanksgiving dinner is served “family style” at Triple Creek Ranch, from an elegantly decorated table stretching the length of the dining room. Triple Creek Ranch’s wine program is overseen by Sommelier Jeremy White and has led to 10 consecutive Wine Spectator “Awards of Excellence” since 2005 and a yearly “Best Of, Award of Excellence” from the publication since 2012.
